Heal The Youth Foundation (HTYF) stands as a beacon of hope for youth empowerment and development across Africa, particularly in Nigeria. With a focus on creating opportunities and fostering a conducive environment for youth growth and success, HTYF has made significant strides in various regions of Nigeria, notably in Central Nigeria, including Bauchi, Plateau, F.CT, Gombe, and Nasarawa State.

Registered as a Non-Governmental Organization under CAC/IT/NO 18565, HTYF is dedicated to implementing sustainable interventions that positively impact the lives of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), Women, and Youths. Guided by a comprehensive five-year Strategic Plan covering the period from 2019 to 2023, HTYF ensures focused action, continuous progress monitoring, and clarity in roles and responsibilities.

The foundation’s core mission is to break the cycle of poverty, reduce teenage pregnancies, and improve health outcomes for its beneficiaries. Through initiatives aimed at inspiring informed decision-making, bolstering quality education, and fostering economic growth, HTYF seeks to empower young people for a brighter future.

Vision and Mission:

HTYF envisions “An empowered, healthy, and successful people having equal opportunities.” Its mission is to “Enhance the quality of life for the vulnerable in Nigeria.”

The core values of HTYF, including Creativity, Accountability, Transparency, Hard Work, Teamwork, Resourcefulness, Inclusiveness, and Honesty, form the foundation of its identity and guide its actions.

Philosophy:

With over two decades of service, HTYF’s philosophy revolves around holistic support for the most vulnerable groups in Nigeria, encompassing health, civic engagement, empowerment, and care for orphans and vulnerable children.

Programs:

HTYF implements programs under four main focal themes: Health, Civic Engagement, Empowerment, and Orphans & Vulnerable Children. Initiatives such as the Support-A-Child Initiative (SACI) and Youth Safe Spaces address various needs including education, psychosocial aid, sexual reproductive health, and mental health.

Headquartered in Abuja, with additional offices in Plateau and Bauchi states, HTYF strategically positions itself to effectively implement programs tailored to the needs of different communities.

Organizational Structure:

HTYF boasts a robust organizational structure overseen by a proficient Board of Trustees. Stringent financial and resource management systems ensure transparent and accountable management of resources.

With a proven track record in managing grants from various donors and partners like USAID, US Ambassador grants, APIN, and IHVN, HTYF effectively mobilizes resources to achieve impactful results.

Management Team:

The foundation’s management team comprises dedicated individuals including the Executive Director, Directors of Programmes and Resources Mobilization, Senior Governance and Compliance Advisor, and State Coordinators.

HTYF has a committed team of 14 full-time employees and 3 part-time employees dedicated to driving its mission forward.
